Webinar: The Licensing and Regulation of Virtual Asset Businesses in Dubai
The registration has been closed
About the Event
This webinar examines key issues regarding the regulatory regime in the Middle East that is driving the growth of cryptocurrency transactions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Securities and Commodities Authority issued the regulation on crypto assets, SCA’s Decision No. 23 of 2020.
The Virtual Assets Law No. 4 of 2022 on the Regulation of Virtual Assets in the Emirate of Dubai entered into force on 11 March 2022 and is applicable to virtual asset services in Dubai, except in the DIFC. The Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) has issued a comprehensive supervision and licensing regime. The Virtual Assets Law establishes the VARA as the primary virtual assets’ regulator in Dubai. This webinar will focus on VARA, its role as a regulator, and licensing requirements and compliance best practices for virtual asset businesses seeking to operate under VARA jurisdiction.
