Dubai Chamber recognizes that resource scarcity and pollution issues such as climate change will seriously challenge the success of businesses and communities if they are not addressed. Further, we realize that there is a great opportunity in better managing resources and waste across all organizations as it reduces costs and enhances competitiveness.
Since 1998 Dubai Chamber has undertaken a number of steps, particularly in terms of energy and water use, to improve its environmental performance. This allowed us to reduce potable water and energy consumption per building occupant by 94% and 57% respectively saving over $4.9 million in over 15 years. In 2009 we became the 1st existing building in the Arab world and 4th outside of North America to achieve the coveted LEED certification for Existing Buildings. Since then we retrofitted our head office and applied the latest solutions to improve our building performance. This led us to achieve LEED Platinum for existing buildings in 2014 and 2018, another first in the Arab world. Click here to request for a green building tour.
