What is a Government Liaison Office?

It is an office established in the Emirate of Dubai by a competent entity or organisation of any foreign country government for the purpose of enhancing mutual business and promoting its own products or industrial and commercial enterprises in Dubai. A liaison office is not allowed to practice any business activity or make business deals by itself.

Who is eligible for setting up a government liaison office?

The official entities and organisations of any foreign country government.

Requirements for establishing a Government Trade Representative office in Dubai
  • A letter of intention from the Ministry of Trade or the Ministry in charge of establishing trade offices abroad requesting the formation of the office in Dubai
  • Support letter from the Embassy or Consulate General of the applicant’s country in UAE or the nearest country to UAE
  • A passport copy of the person appointed by the government of the country to establish and manage the office
  • All documents should be legalized and attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs or UAE Embassy in the applicant’s country
