Dubai Chamber Reaches Out To Offer Support To More Tech Startups At GITEX 2020

Dubai Startup Hub, the entrepreneurship initiative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, strengthened its outreach at GITEX Technology Week 2020 to expand its support to more technology startups from around the world.

Dubai Startup Hub shared information on the various support opportunities available to technology startups including its Co-founder Dubai and Scale-up Dubai programmes, as well as the resources that Dubai Chamber’s international offices can provide in supporting startups with global expansion.

Co-founder Dubai is a programme designed to improve the success rate of locally based startups through comprehensive matchmaking and training, while the newly launched Scale-up Dubai provides support to fast-growing startups from the UAE that are keen to take their businesses to the next level and expand beyond borders.

Dubai Startup Hub’s outreach efforts at GITEX 2020 came in response to a rising number of inquiries from entrepreneurs from the UAE and around the world that are seeking a co-founder and tailored support for their innovative business ventures.

Natalia Sycheva, Sr. Manager of Entrepreneurship and Special Projects at Dubai Chamber, said GITEX was an ideal platform to engage with Dubai’s startup community and gain valuable feedback from entrepreneurs.

“With Dubai seeing heightened interest in entrepreneurship this year, we identified a need to expand our offerings in line with the changing needs of our members and global startups that are keen on entering the local market,” she explained.

“We were very encouraged by the strong and positive response we received from the startup community at GITEX and look forward to seeing many more innovative startups join our growing network in the near future.”

Alongside, Dubai Startup Hub also provided a platform for eight of its startup members to exhibit at GITEX to help them boost market exposure and connect with prospective investors and business partners.

Established by Dubai Chamber in 2016, Dubai Startup Hub is the first initiative of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region. The initiative aims to provide clarity and guidance for entrepreneurs throughout their journey, while it also leverages public-private sector partnerships to promote innovation and develop Dubai’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
