Elevision Media Creates Dh4 million Media Fund To Support Local SMEs Affected By COVID-19 Pandemic

UAE-based digital-out-of-home advertising platform Elevision Media has launched an initiative to provide Dh4 million in free advertising for small local businesses affected by the novel coronavirus (COVID) pandemic in order to help them market their products and services.

Many countries, communities and businesses worldwide continue to endure several weeks of social and economic restrictions as part of safety measures to contain the spread of the infection. Startups, small businesses, and businesses in the events, food and beverage, and tourism industries, have been among the hardest hit and are suffering the greatest impact of the public health crisis.

Stressing the need for targeted measures to support sales and cash flow during this period, Niall Sallam, CEO, Elevision Media, said in a statement: “Remaining top of mind and maintaining share of voice is extremely important so that when the situation does begin to normalise, local businesses will be in a good position, with solid footing to ramp up traction quickly and efficiently.

“That said, in a situation where a small business owner is faced with a choice to either pay salaries or allocate budget to advertising the decision is easy; advertising spend does not take priority. With this in mind, we are hoping that our initiative can help struggling businesses bridge the gap and maintain some share of voice now and going forward as the market begins to strengthen again.”

The IMF said in April that it expects the global economy to contract by 3% in 2020 – starkly different than its January forecast of a global gross domestic product expansion of 3.3% for the year.

Elevision operates over 1,200 digital-out-of-Home advertising screens in commercial and residential communities such as the Dubai International Financial Centre, Jumeirah Beach Residences and in Jumeirah Lakes Towers through the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre.
