Jonathan Oliver is an award winning multimedia strategist with over 15 years of global media experience. He brings a unique set of skills to his role as Global Head of Innovation with expertise in Digital Marketing & Business Strategy. His passion is the intersection of creativity & business fused with tech & science, which he defines as the next big growth marketing opportunity.

Jonathan has spent the past 8 years working in a variety of roles including strategist, architect, and evangelist utilizing the Microsoft Portfolio (MSN, Skype, Xbox, & Windows) and emerging technologies to amplify and translate brand communications into immersive audience centric experiences. He has delivered a number of thought leading presentations at industry conferences, digital schools and to clients and agencies on creativity and the future of digital marketing.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Jonathan was one of the harbingers of the digital age gaining a BA First Class Honours degree in multimedia production. Most notable throughout his academic career was his industry award for the first interactive production on how to create a news story. His major paper “How New Media Technology Affects the Political Process” was published by the Financial Times.

Jonathan began his career as Assistant Producer at BSKYB working across a number of digital channels from News, Sports and Movies. He produced weekly shows & news packages devising ideas and stories to engage viewers. After 2 years, he moved into Online Marketing with the global IT publisher IDG where he developed creative solutions across both print and online properties for global IT clients. He moved back into TV with BBC Global Channels where he developed innovative solutions for BBC World international Television producing award winning multimedia programmes. Whilst at BBC he was quick to see the benefit of monetising the international audience of bbc.co.uk and was part of the strategic team who developed bbc.com, now the largest news site in Europe.

An avid reader of The Economist, he moved there to integrate new media thinking into an old print institution. As one of the forerunners in fusing both the print and nascent online units his legacy is the creation of the Strategic Sales Units who work across multiplatform facets of The Economist Group. After leaving The Economist, he went on to become the UK Managing Director of Premium Publishers Online a network of premium publishers based around Europe who offered a high-end environment for brand placement and creative execution. After leaving Premium Publishers Online he moved to Microsoft Advertising.

Jonathan is also the IAA (International Advertising Association) Worldwide Chairman of Young Professionals with a seat on the IAA Worldwide Excom Board. His role is to promote innovation, education and best practice within Global Advertising. He is also a member of the Marketing Society, Creative and Innovation Social, and Founder of The Kennel Club – a community of young creatives keen to cut their teeth in the world of digital marketing.

As a lean startup coach, Tristan works with teams and leaders to apply lean startup principles and build innovation ecosystems.

Tristan has worked with over 15 technology accelerator programs including government funded initiatives such as Innovation Norway, Vinnova (Sweden), Enterprise Ireland, NEST’up (Belgium), StartSmart (Estonia) and the Innovation Partnership Program (Vietnam-Finland). He has designed lean startup programs such as the Build or Die Bootcamp for TechBA (Mexico) and the Boom Reactor (Belgium) in addition to being part of Luxr whose Core Curriculum has been used by 13 accelerators internationally including Singularity University, 500 Startups, & The United States Innovation Fellows.

He has worked with companies ranging from early stage startups with zero revenue to established businesses with >$10M USD revenue (Kiva, JustAnswer, StumbleUpon) to enterprise companies with >$1B USD revenue. (Swisscom, Pitney Bowes, Fujitsu, LinkedIn).

Tristan regularly speaks, appears on panels, and gives workshops internationally with organizations such as the Stanford Center for Entrepreneurial Studies & D-school, Global Product Management Talks, Lean Startup Machine, General Electric (GE), and more.

With his remaining hours, Tristan volunteers his time with Lean Startup Circle, a non-profit grassroots organization helping to develop innovation ecosystems with meetups in over 80 cities around the world.

Mr. Jean-Eric Aubert

International expert in innovation policies and in development strategies, Jean-Eric Aubert has worked for ten years (2000-2009) at the World Bank Institute, promoting knowledge economy work. Prior to joining the World Bank, Jean-Eric Aubert has worked at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (1973-2000), where he has notably been in charge of science, technology and innovation policy reviews and outlooks. He has also intervened as high-level expert for UN agencies, African and Mediterranean organisations. Throughout his career, Jean-Eric Aubert has operated as policy evaluator and advisor in more than 50 countries of all development levels, assisting governments in strategic initiatives and policy reforms. He is the author or director of many major international publications, guidebooks and policy reviews. He is founder and president of the SIGN Institute, a global network to promote innovation in societies and cultures. A French national, Jean-Eric Aubert holds post-graduate diplomas in economics and in applied mathematics from Paris universities.

Mr. Sunil Sinha

Sunil Sinha is the Resident Director of Tata Sons, for Middle East & North Africa (MENA) based out of Dubai. He is responsible for developing this region among several other priority markets such as North America, Canada, Europe, Africa, China, and South East Asia that the Tata Group is focusing on. All of these international markets are key drivers for growth for the Tata group going forward. Tata Sons is the promoter company for businesses operating under the Tata umbrella.

Prior to this appointment he was Chief Executive Officer of Tata Quality Management Services which is the nodal body for the Tata group responsible for initiatives at the group-level that relate to business excellence, innovation, sustainability, safety and corporate governance. In his role as Chief Executive Officer of TQMS, he has helped implement the Tata Business Excellence Model — a transformational and holistic improvement programme in over 100 Tata companies.

In Jan 2015, he was appointed to the board of the Malcolm Baldrige Foundation that governs the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award of USA. He also serves on the boards and audit committees of Tata Auto Comp Hendrickson Suspensions.
He has spoken at global forums including Harvard Business School on subjects such as innovation and business excellence. In 2009, he was nominated by BusinessWeek magazine as one of the world’s 25 ‘masters of innovation’.

In a professional career spanning over three decades, he has held a variety of
Leadership positions at the Tata group including at Tata International and Tata Steel where he headed a number of functions from project management to international marketing & sales, shipping & chartering to human resources. He was one of the founding members of the ‘total quality implementation group’ at Tata Steel during a period when the company was undergoing a major business transformation.

He graduated in mechanical engineering from Bihar College of Engineering, Patna in 1982. He completed the Advanced Management Programme from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, in 2004 and the Advanced Strategic Management Programme at IMD, Lausanne in 2011.

He and his wife, Smriti have one daughter, Stuti.

Mr. Khaled Al Khudair

Khalid’s current role is the Founder and CEO of Glowork a women empowerment organization that has created thousands of jobs for women. This led Glowork to be awarded the Best innovation globally for job creation by the UN, ILO & World Bank.

He is a proud Ashoka Fellow, & a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum. In March 2014 Khalid was elected to become a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum for his work in social entrepreneurship.

Previously he held the role of COO- Markets at KPMG in Saudi, Kuwait and Jordan which helped him secure an expertise insight into all the key aspects of strategic and successful marketing and operations. Khalid managed to lead the firms he worked with to over 30 key awards which were aligned to the firm’s overall corporate goals and strategy. In 2013, Khalid led Glowork to an investment of over 16M USD to expand its current operations into different verticals.

Khalid is an active writer & contributor to international publications such as the Huffington Post, as well as publishing a book entitled “Communicating effectively in the work place”. All this led him to being awarded the Excellence in Entrepreneurship award at the Global Thinkers Forum, The Best Head of Marketing in the Middle East, and Saint Mary’s University Young Alumni of the year, selected as Amends Fellow at Stanford University. One of the high impact entrepreneur selected by Endeavor. Ranked #3 in the 30 under 30 Gulf Business Magazine powerlist & ranked in the top 500 most powerful Arabs by Arabian Business Magazine.

Prof. Ir. Kas Oosterhuis

Professor Kas Oosterhuis studied architecture at the Delft Technical University. In 1987-1988 he taught as Unit Master at the AA in London and worked / lived one year in the former studio of Theo van Doesburg in Paris together with visual artist Ilona Lénárd. Oosterhuis is founder and creative director of the innovation studio VAA.ONL. In 2016 VAA.ONL will open their branch office in Dubai. In 2000 Oosterhuis was appointed Professor Digital Architecture at the Delft Technical University and is currently leading a staff of 12 researchers at his Hyperbody research group, the knowledge centre for Nonstandard and Interactive Architecture at the TU Delft, while conducting a full master design studio and promoting a group of PHD candidates. As from 2007 Kas Oosterhuis is a registered architect in Hungary, executing as General Designer the WHALE project. Oosterhuis is founder and director of the protoSPACE Laboratory of Hyperbody. Oosterhuis is author of the groundbreaking book “Towards a New Kind of Building, a Designers Guide to Nonstandard Architecture” [NAi Publishers 2011].

Oosterhuis has lectured worldwide at numerous universities, academies and international conferences since 1990. Kas Oosterhuis has initiated two GSM conferences at the TU in Delft on multiplayer game design, design to production methods and open source design. Oosterhuis has lectured at TEDx Delft in 2012. In 2013 Oosterhuis was chosen editor-in-chief of the new scientific journal Next Generation Building.

In 2012 ONL received the Wood Innovation Award for their climbing Wall system. In 2008 the Autodesk BIM Experience Award for the CET Project in Budapest. Further award winning building designs include the Saltwater Pavilion at Neeltje Jans [Gold Award 1997 for innovative recreational projects, nomination Mies van der Rohe Award 1998], the Garbagetransferstation Elhorst/Vloedbelt in Zenderen [Business Week / Architectural Record Award 1998, OCE-BNA Award for Industrial Architecture 1996, Aluminium Design Award 1997] and the Hessing Cockpit in Acoustic Barrier in Utrecht [National Steel Award 2006, Glass Award 2006, Dutch Design Award for Public Space 2006, nomination Mies van der Rohe Award 2008, nomination Golden Pyramid 2006].

Dr. Belaid Rettab

Dr. Belaid Rettab currently presides as The Chief Economist and Senior Director of the Economic Research & Sustainable Business Development Sector at Dubai Chamber, where he has established and continues to spearhead three major departments catered to serve Dubai’s business needs through economic research, corporate responsibility strategies, and business excellence since 2003.

Dr. Rettab has led the prestigious Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award Program since its inception, and has played an instrumental role in the development and continuous refurbishment of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Performance Model, a sophisticated business model which integrates international and best practices for sustainable business practices and performance strategies.

Prior to joining Dubai Chamber, Dr. Rettab held an advisory role to the UAE Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs-TANMIA from 2001.

As a Chief Economist, and previous lecturer of micro-economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, Dr. Rettab has accumulated over 25 years of outstanding achievements in research and advisory work in Western and Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. He has assisted the European Union, United Nations, the World Bank and numerous national governments with the implementation of several economic development and reform programs. Dr. Rettab has also published a myriad of articles and research reports directly relevant to policy makers in the fields of economics, trade, international management, entrepreneurship, public administration and business ethics.

He graduated from the Economic Faculty of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), where he worked from 1987 to 1998 as researcher and later on as a Senior Consultant at the Foundation for Economic Research Rotterdam. He defended his Doctorate thesis partially funded by the Netherlands Scientific Research Organization’s (N.W.O) in 1995 at the EUR-FEW, and in 1998, he moved to EIM Policy Research where he worked as Research Manager and International Consultant.

Shuh Lan TONG is the Director of Business & Service Excellence at SPRING Singapore. SPRING is Singapore’s enterprise development agency and the National Standards Board under the Ministry of Trade & Industry, with the mission of helping enterprises grow and building trust in Singapore’s products and services. Business & Service Excellence plays an integral role to this mission to help organisations strengthen their management fundamentals and create greater customer value.

Shuh Lan oversees the development and adoption of the national business excellence framework and the Customer Centric Initiative which on-board more than 500 organisations each year – from various sectors including lifestyle, hospitality, healthcare, finance, logistics, manufacturing as well as the public sector. The division also runs a national certification and awards programme that recognise organisations to the pinnacle standards of Business Excellence, as well as in the niche areas of Innovation, People and Service Excellence. In her previous portfolios as Director Business Leadership and International Partnership Office (Americas), she fostered collaborations with business schools and leading U.S. corporates to customise executive development programmes for business leaders and launched a mentorship and business advisors programme for small and medium enterprises.

Shuh Lan has served more than 10 years with the Singapore public sector, including the Economic Development Board, the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of Trade and Industry. She also lived and worked in the US for some 8 years – as a business developer, a cross cultural trainer and an entrepreneur. She graduated magna cum laude with a BSc/BA from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a MBA from the Columbia Graduate School of Business, USA.
