Data privacy is fast becoming significant, especially with the increasing volume of data usage. Introducing laws and regulations on data protection will enable the organizations operating in UAE to better understand the legal implications of data usage and handling.

Phil Mennie leads PwC’s data assurance capabilities across the Middle East region. He has 14 years’ experience of helping his clients manage technology and digital risk and drive value through insights into their data.

Phil’s expertise stems from using web technology to better manage financial and operational data.

He has led engagements across a broad range of industries, including banking and finance, where he led the development of a secure web-based payment system and a large scale customer-facing web application to capture trade data.

Richard is a Senior Lawyer who leads PwC Legal Middle East Privacy offering, with a broad range of experience across data protection and privacy, banking and finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisition, governmental projects, oil and gas, as well as regulatory and compliance matters.

He is also a regular keynote speaker at a variety of data protection and privacy conferences and seminars in the Middle East.

Richard was the lead project manager performing a data privacy assessment covering a leading FS client in the Middle East, including design, maturity, gap analysis and road map for roll-out of a privacy policy, data breach procedure and data protection framework.
