Dubai, UAE: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a flag hoisting ceremony in front of its head office in Dubai on Thursday to celebrate UAE Flag Day and honour the country’s past, present and future.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Hamad Buamim, President & CEO of Dubai Chamber, H.E. Humaid Mohamed Ben Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as well as senior Dubai Chamber officials, directors, staff and customers.
UAE Flag Day commemorates the accession of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the UAE. Since succeeding the father of the nation H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa has carried forward the grand legacy of nation-building and dedicated his life to the well-being of the people.
Commenting on the national occasion, H.E. Buamim said: “UAE Flag Day is a symbol of the country’s unity and greatness and represents aspirations for a better future for the people of the UAE. Let us renew our allegiance to our leaders to build a bright future for our beloved nation and keep our flag flying high.”
He added: ‘‘This occasion is very close to our hearts as it symbolises the love, loyalty, and gratitude we have for our country and its leadership. Today, we pay homage to the efforts of Sheikh Zayed, Sheikh Rashid and their brothers who have dedicated their lives for the sake of our beloved country.’’
Lauding the role of the UAE leadership in taking the country to the ranks of the most developed countries in the world, H.E. Buamim urged staff to continue to work toward driving the UAE’s social and economic progress and development in line with the country’s strategic vision and ambitions.
