In its second year catering to the greater GCC region, the 2nd Cycle of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Innovation Award will be launched on November 14th, 2017.
The Business Innovation Award aims at recognizing and celebrating the success of companies who have proven to be leaders in the realm of innovation, and whose outstanding achievements in innovation contribute to development of their economies.
Irrespective of the country of origin, all sizes and types of organizations based, and with current activity, in any of the GCC countries are welcome to participate and be in the run for the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Innovation Award.
The first step is to submit the online Pre-Application Form where companies express their interest to participate in the Business Innovation Award Program. Upon the online form submission, the Award Unit will evaluate if the applicant company meets the eligibility criteria to qualify for the Business Innovation Award Program.
In order to participate, organizations are required to meet all of the following criteria:
All sizes and types of local, regional and international organizations with current activity in any of the GCC countries are welcome to participate and compete for the Award.
Because the number of participants is limited, organizations are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Groups or Holding companies are not eligible to participate as a whole. However, individual companies from the Group or Holding are welcome to participate.
All organizations who have been approved to participate are required to pay the associated fees:

(17 Oct 2017 – 28 Feb 2018)
The pre-application stage is to ensure that applicant companies meet the eligibility criteria to qualify for the Award Program. Applicant companies are required to submit their online Pre-Application Form on the Dubai Chamber website along with their Company Operating License, Company Profile and Organizational Chart.
The number of participants is limited and companies are approved on a first-come first-served basis therefore the pre-application deadline can be subject to change.
Award Application Submission
(15 Jan 2018 – 13 May 2018)
Once the Program Fee is received, each participant company is provided with the Award Application Package that includes 1. The Model Manual, 2. The Award Application Deliverable Template and 3. The Award Application Guidelines. During the same period the Dubai Chamber will also conduct the Learning Module comprised of Best-Practices Seminars, Training Workshops and Roundtable Discussions.
Application Desk Assessment
(20 May 2018 – 26 Aug 2018)
A team of independent Assessors who are seasoned professionals from the private sector review the companies’ Award Applications in teams of two. Each team conducts a thorough assessment of each application and score according to the criteria of the Business Performance Model.
Site Visit Assessment
(17 Sept 2018 – 19 Oct 2018)
Participant companies who meet the required scoring threshold receive a site visit. The assessors conduct a comprehensive and balanced site visit assessment and rescore the company according to the findings during the visit. The assessor’s shortlist and propose outperforming companies to the Award Panel of Judges.
An international and independent Panel of Judges, chaired by H. E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, reviews and endorses the proposed list of winners. H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, issues the final decision and names the winners to be recognized during the Award Ceremony.
Along with all the participant companies, distinguished local and international top executives and business owners as well as business excellence and innovation leaders partake in the Award Ceremony to recognize and celebrate the Award winners who exhibited exceptional business performance and innovative practices.
Feedback Report Issuance
Each participant company receives a comprehensive Feedback Report developed by the assessors. Their input is based on their assessment of the application findings, as well as site visit findings for those who qualified for the visit. The feedback report is a roadmap apparatus to assist participant companies in acknowledging the areas where they are excelling organizationally, as well as addressing areas with opportunities for improvement.
