1. Who is eligible?
Individual staff of a company that is a member of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry are eligible. Immediate family (spouse & children only) of the same staff member are also eligible.
2. Is there a limitation on the number of children or wives that are eligible?
No.
3. Does the individual member apply directly?
No. The company must apply on behalf of its staff members and their eligible family members.
4. What are the required documents?
A company must submit the following items on behalf of the individual staff member and each of his family members:

  • Passport size photograph
  • Photocopy of valid work visa
  • Filled in information of the individual (Online)

If the company has not yet enrolled any staff members before, a copy of the Dubai Chamber membership certificate must also be submitted.

5. Are there any other fees besides the initial application fee?
All fees are included in the price of the Pulse & Pulse Plus insurance policies.
Additional fees apply if the customer requests delivery of insurance policy and insurance cards.
6. How long does the cover last?
The duration of your insurance plan is usually 12 months.
However, business owners or managers often prefer to renew all of their staff insurance plans at the same time to minimize paperwork. Therefore, it is advised to always check the expiry date on your insurance card as your coverage may be less than 12 months.
7. Does my cover include “maternity”?
No. “Maternity” is not included as it is a wide cover however, the specific delivery of the baby is covered up to AED 10,000.
8. Does my insurance cover me while travelling abroad?
The standard Pulse only covers the United Arab Emirates. However, the Pulse Plus insurance will cover you anywhere in the UAE, Middle East & Africa.
9. How do I make a claim?
By first completing the downloadable claim form found on this site and having it signed by your doctor. Then you can proceed with sending the signed claim form along with the receipts and a copy of your card to the NGI.
10. Can I choose where I receive treatment?
You can visit any hospital that is mentioned on the network provider list. Please click here.
11. Are pre-existing conditions covered?
Yes.
12. Do I need a physician’s check-up before I can apply and get an approval for Pulse or Pulse Plus?
No. A check-up is not required. This is the major advantage of Pulse and Pulse Plus, especially when combined with the coverage of pre-existing conditions.
13. Do all my staff need to be covered by Pulse or Pulse Plus?
A company is free to choose which of its workforce are covered by the Pulse or Pulse Plus plan.
14. Is Dubai Chamber an insurance broker or does it provide The Insurance Coverage?
No to both questions. Dubai Chamber is working in association with NGI to develop a product that can fill a gap in the current market and serve SMEs demand for such a product. Dubai Chamber is neither an insurance broker nor an Insurance provider, and bears no responsibility or liability as such.
