CSR is increasingly recognized as an imperative for business success and we give a regional focus to a global topic. The third edition of the CSR Al Youm for 2010 (in Arabic and English) explores the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the Marketplace. This involves a look at ethical marketing, fair-trade, how to implement responsible payment practices and the benefits of a sustainable supply chain. Our upcoming annual conference, Dubai Dialogue: Sustainability Matters 2010 is also highlighted.

CSR is increasingly recognized as an imperative for business success and we give a regional focus to a global topic. The second edition of the CSR Al Youm for 2010 looks at the merits of Corporate Community Involvement both globally and locally. We explore the historical context in which corporate community involvement originated from and track the evolution of the concept including the introduction of employee volunteerism. We look at the cost of community health for businesses and how to benchmark your employee volunteering program using the drivers for effectiveness for employee volunteering and giving programs.

The first edition of the new look CSR Al Youm looks at issues that could affect the way we do responsible business in 2010 such as: Ethical Hacking, the update to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the outcomes for the Dubai business community from the Copenhagen Summit. We also look at the research findings of 2009 in areas of corporate community involvement, green purchasing and sustainable consumption.

The Year in Review
The Year in Review Edition of the CSR Al Youm brings 2009 to a close by looking at events that defined the progress of sustainability in the UAE. We look at accomplishments and products that have changed our landscape such as the launch of the Metro and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) locating their head quarters in Abu Dhabi, the Greenomics conference, oxo-biodegradable plastics becoming available in the UAE, and the first ever Dubai Responsible Business Dialogue being held this year.
