Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in the year 1965. It is a private non-profit organization whose mission is to represent, support and protect the interests of the business community in Dubai, by creating a favorable business environment; supporting the development of business; and by promoting Dubai as an international business hub. During the past three years the Chamber went through a major restructuring and completely overturned the type and variety of its workforce. This major shift in culture required a more competent workforce with private sector mentality and skills to be able to drive the Chamber towards its new brand and objectives.

This change not only required a change in workforce but also a major overhaul of the organizations policies, procedures and culture. A change which resulted in the Chamber’s employee satisfaction to increase, moving the employee satisfaction ranking from 13th place in the year 2007, to 1st Place in the year 2009 in the Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP). One of the highest employee satisfaction rates in the government of Dubai. This 12 rank jump is unprecedented in the DGEP programme.

The Chamber believes that our people are a key asset to realize the objectives and aims of the organization. We are therefore committed to hire the best talent and create an environment and work life balance that will encourage their productivity and potential. We recognize and reward contributions and develop our employees’ potential. Our business strategy embodies a people strategy as our cutting edge for business success. We look upon the Human Resources function as a strategic business partner to support the business goals with professional expertise. We invest in people processes so as to bring rich dividends to the well-being of our people, organization and to the community we serve.
